INSTANT

Jonesing for some Polaroid action right now (although that's nothing new); in lieu of my own Polaroid, I'll have to settle for disposable cameras from CVS.

In other news, isn't Grace Coddington the absolute baddest???? Number one ginger of all time in my book.

COPYCAT

Easy to recreate (and I'm SO going to do this):

...NOT so easy to recreate, but let us all agree that those talon rings are the definition of OFF THE CHAIN, and would go with just about everything, including the above ensemble?!?

RE

I love this.

From a 1967 interview in the Paris Review:

INTERVIEWER

Another critic has written that your “worlds are static. They may become tense with obsession, but they do not break apart like the worlds of everyday reality.” Do you agree? Is there a static quality in your view of things?

NABOKOV

Whose “reality”? “Everyday” where? Let me suggest that the very term “everyday reality” is utterly static since it presupposes a situation that is permanently observable, essentially objective, and universally known. I suspect you have invented that expert on “everyday reality.” Neither exists.

[TITLE REDACTED]

[Givenchy Resort 2012 and Couture Fall 2011, via style.com // B&W Rock 'n' Roll madness via LIFE magazine]

Let's talk about how much I adore Givenchy. Which is a lot. Swoon-worthy and wearable at the same time (perhaps with the exception of those Couture gowns, but I digress). Come Fall, I'll be DIYing those impractical neck-and-sleeves-only sweatshirts, for sure.

The LIFE photos are in the mix because, well, they showed up on my Twitter feed, and I love their emotion. You can almost hear the fan-girl screams. Plus, all of their coiffed hair (guys and gals) is seeming like a really good idea at the moment.

DAYS

I cannot believe I only have one more month of my internship, and only a little over a month left in New York. Time has flown far too fast this summer, which I believe is an indication of how much fun I'm having and how much I absolutely adore this city. Damn, I'm sure going to miss it when I go.

Totally feeling some Vegas vibes right now... preferably these 1968 Vegas vibes, as provided by a set of BOMB candid photos taken by a group of Yale Architecture school students on a studio trip.

DAYDREAMIN'

These colors.

The last two photos are the view from the loft my mother lived in when she lived in New York in the early '80s. So good.
